Appearance – Overwhelming pale and mass produced. Amazed the bottom didn’t fall out when I lifted it out of the foil – it’s so under cooked.
Mince to Pastry ratio – Good, no air gap to speak of. Just a shame the pastry is there at all really.
Mouthfeel – Soggy and yet powdery pastry dominates the experience – very unpleasant. The filling had a few stalks to the currants – OK other than that.
Flavour – The filling has quite a nice flavour, its just a shame the horrible pastry ruins it all.
Summary – Easily the worst pastry I’ve had this ‘season’ – pale and undercooked. Filling wasn’t bad, but couldn’t save the experience from a poor rating.
