Appearance – As expected it looks like a cherry bakewell minus the cherry – the Katie Price of the mince pie world.
Mince to Pastry ratio – Lower than you’d expect given the lack of pastry on top. This is due to the reduced mincemeat content as the filling is 50% icing.
Mouthfeel – Soft yet dry pastry. Little texture from the mincemeat, icing dominated the experience.
Flavour – Mincemeat was quite pleasant but flavour was overpowered by the icing. Pastry a non event.
Summary – Extremely sweet pie due to the vast amount of icing – very popular with Mrs Mince and the Mincets as a result. Just too sweet for me and you can’t taste the mincemeat so hard to recommend.
