Appearance – Poor conformity – some domed but others flat. Had a nice colour and pattern on top though.
Mince to Pastry ratio – Wow, just WOW! The air gap is strong on this one. If I’d have brought these I would have felt ripped off – only half the filling is there… fortunately my Aldi buyer fronted the cost – thanks again!
Mouthfeel – Very Soggy bottom (Paul Hollywood eat your heart out) and a gloopy filling – not the best experience.
Flavour – Sweet, as you would expect, but a pleasant taste even if it’s not a traditional mince pie.
Summary – The Ronseal of pies – ‘It does exactly what it says on the box’ in terms of flavour but blows other AIR GAPS out of the water.
